Christmas Decorating at the Colorado Lodge

So, this weekend we took the time to do the Christmas decorating. Mr. Man has to travel for business soon and I don’t want to do it by myself. Plus, the girls had time off from work and school and so we just tackled the job and got it done. That way, we could go see the latest Harry Potter and come home to a decorated house. Sounds like a plan, right?

It starts like this:

… and Max is a big, big help!

When the tree is up, it looks fantastic. A couple of years ago, when the base of our first tree broke, we decided to get a taller tree to fit the vaulted ceiling in the front room. We finally have a tree that fits the lodge!

While Max is no help at all, the girls are really just interested in decorating the village:

When I finally get the village all organized and plugged in, it’s really beautiful. Of course, this is Emily’s favorite place during the holidays, so I leave the back area open as she likes to sit behind the village playing Catzilla.

This morning, we woke to a lovely dusting of snow to top off the decorating efforts.

OMG. Your patio area looks just gorgeous, especially with the snow.

It was so funny to see raccoon tracks in the snow the other day too … we have a big family of raccoons who visits the pond regularly.
