My beaded Saroyan is finished!

Well, this is my first beaded hand-knit scarf, and I have to say I like it – except for the fact that even though I’ve steam blocked it carefully, it still wants to curl up on the edges. Argh!

beaded Saroyan with Arcania Ruca

The yarn is Arucania Ruca (that’s a Ravelry link) and the knitting pattern is Saroyan (that’s a Ravelry link too). The beads are simple Czech glass beads.

I love the softness of the yarn – made from Sugar Cane no less! – and the sheen is just perfect.

Today, I plan to wind this yarn:

String Theory yarn in Black Cherry

… and start the HollyGrove Scarf, which is an Aran cabled pattern I’m in love with. Although … I’m getting scared because Sheri of the Loopy Ewe, who is a much more accomplished knitter than I am, has had a little trouble getting it started. Yikes!

My last knitting attempt at cables was the fully reversible Palindrome scarf:

… and I loved it … cable challenge here I come!

No worries – it was all apparently user-error on my part. I’m sure you’ll do fine with it!
