Moving across country with two cats

Yesterday was moving day. It started with getting up at 4 a.m. to finish some painting. Why was I painting in the cold dark on a Wednesday morning, you ask? Or maybe you didn’t, but I’ll tell you.

The dry wall repair done 4 days before resulted in big chunks of dry wall coming off the wall when I painted the day before! Crap. My inspection was coming and the dry wall repair wasn’t ready.

So the dry wall guys stopped by and fixed it. I put a big fan on it to get it really dry this time and I was painting it to get it done before the movers arrived.

The movers got there around 9 a.m. and it wasn’t until after 7 that night that they were leaving.

Moving day

By that time, the paint had dried and the buyers were walking in for their final inspection. I was so tired, I loaded the kitties and practically crawled into my hotel room.

Today, it’s driving across Colorado.

The drugs worked pretty well. Emily only meowed for the first 2 hours and then settled into a kind of nap-for-an-hour, meow-for-a-half-hour, sleep-again routine that lasted all day.

Max gave into the drug and curled into a ball and slept.

I’m calling this a win.
