Harvest festival, new places to hang out, and bedazzling

Last Friday, we attended the Harvest get-together at the Gainey Vineyard, complete with hay rides drawn by some really beautiful horses.

Did I ride the hayride? heck no. I grew up on a farm and hay means one thing: itchy. No thank you. The vines were just starting to change colors and the views were incredible, of course.

They had plenty of wines for members to try, a farmer’s market, and a great band that played some fun music. It was a nice night.

That afternoon, Emily and Max tried out new hangouts.

That doesn’t look comfortable, does it?

And I was right about the fireplace not being quite finished – Steve spent the evening bedazzling it.

It looks darned cool when it’s turned on at night.

The flames are hard to see in the daylight and they aren’t high, but heck. It’s better than a big empty hole. Too fun.
