When you have a toddler in your house … wait a minute, that sounds like the opening of a story. Let’s start again.
Time slows down when you have a toddler in the house. Especially a kid like Owen, who’s super interested in EVERYTHING. How stuff works, why things do that, where are people going … it’s endless.
When you have a toddler, you walk the pier just to see what’s out there.
When the toddler sees a crane pulling boats out of the water you settle in and watch ‘cuz getting to the end of the pier suddenly had no fascination.
When you have a toddler, you decorate your own cupcakes – it’s way messier but totally more fun.
When you live with a toddler and boxes are delivered, you use the long boxes to convert the living room into tunnels for dump trucks.
When you have a toddler, you make sure his mom gets a nap once in a while. Even if that means taking him for a walk in the dark to the park.
When he forgets to ride the slide and you have to return to the park to get two rides down the slide, you just do it.
Owen’s worth it and his mom needed the rest.
Plus, I got to sit on a bench by the ocean with my two favorite guys. I can’t remember the last time Steve and I sat and watched the ocean together. 🙂
