Summertime Ends

You could say it’s endless summer where we are, but with the start of school things never really feel as summery. Besides, I love fall – it’s my favorite season.

With the end of summer we have heat and vegetables.

Bowl of homegrown tomatoes

And huge bushes that must be trimmed down.

Huge salvia bush

And humming birds and butterflies to appease when we do take said bush down.

Lots of salvia branches in a bucket

And there’s wine tasting events in 100-degree heat.

Wine tasting on the Roblar ranch porch

With friends

Wine pouring with friends

And on Sundays, it’s mass, then yoga on the rooftop, and breakfast at the beach.

Morning at the beach

It’s been relatively quiet – lots and lots of work, of course – and I’m about to head into a crazy travel season. So, there will be more posts.

It’s hard to push a blog post that’s just about life sometimes. It feels like the laundry and pets and mowing – all the responsibilities take hold and I forget to step back and reflect. To feel amazed. To be grateful. It all just starts to feel so mundane.

Must work on that.
